The number of inhabitants is approximately 1.600 in a 1.500 km2 area. The community consists of Vang also the villages Ryfoss, Hensasen, Høre and Øye.
Vang and the Valdres district have a lot of churches. In the village Øye and Høre (Vang community) are still authentic stave churches. And in the Valdres district we have 6 of the 28 stave churches in whole Norway. Vang is situated by a beautiful 20 km long lake, called the Vangsmjøsa.
You can enjoy the water sports and excellent trout fishing.
Vang is the largest community in Valdres, Valdres is considered to be the “front yard” of the national park Jotunheimen.
